Zoe Empowers

Purpose:

Since 2018, First Church has sponsored a Zoe Empowers community of orphans in Africa, first in Malawi and now in Kenya, through pledges and donations.

Zoe Empowers works with Child-headed households and their vulnerable families. Through a 3-year, locally led program, participants become safe and healthy, skilled for long-term success, and able to lead meaningful lives within a supportive community.

How it Works

Children work in mutual care groups of 60 to 100 and are supervised by an indigenous staff. They are provided with education, vocational training, business skills, and financial fluency. The group becomes an extended family.

With this support, these children are empowered to build successful lives that impact the world around them.

Over 3 years, groups receive micro-grants and training to achieve sustainable success and well-being across every area of life. Greater than 95% of Zoe graduates are completely self-sufficient at the conclusion of the program.

"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up"

-Galatians 6:9

How To Participate

Pastor Tim and two other church members are traveling to Kenya this June. Pray for them and consider giving a financial gift to offset the cost of travel.
